We'd like to introduce you to our Executive Board, made up of diverse members with various backgrounds who have joined together because they believe in the power of education, advocacy, and fundraising.
Founder and Executive Director
Emily Eason
Emily graduated from the University of Maryland with a master's degree in Public Policy (Nonprofit Management and Leadership). Emily believes that, no matter which point of the political spectrum you are on, everyone can agree that access to higher education makes our country smarter, wealthier, and more compassionate. Emily is currently studying at the University of Virginia School of Law to pursue business immigration law.

Edson Orellana
Hometown: Takoma Park, MD
Major: Economics '25
Outside Latina Pathways, Edson serves as Vice President for CASO. He loves swimming and is an avid fan of the Washington Commanders. In his spare time, he enjoys listening to music (especially Rock en Español), playing sports, and binge-watching shows.

Shivani Sidth
Hometown: Reisterstown, MD
Major: Public Policy & International Relations '25

Outside of Latina Pathways, Shivani is the Vice President of Preventing Sexual Assault, the Secretary of the Asian American Policy Union, and a Campus Manager for University Tees. She is a supporter of all Maryland sports teams and enjoys making Spotify playlists in different languages. Her favorite artists include Nirvana, Maria Becerra, and Sidhu Moose Wala.

Daniela Martinez
Hometown: Myersville, MD
Major: Criminology & Criminal Justice '26

Daniela is also a part of the fundraising committee for 1000 schools, formerly, Students Helping Honduras. She enjoys helping her local community, playing the piano, working out, and watching sports games.
Research Officer
Tanishka Mistry
Hometown: Shepherdstown, WV
Major: Neuroscience

Tanishka works as a freelance photographer and has an off-campus job. Her interests in psychology often take her down a rabbit-hole, researching better ways to understand oneself and others around her. For fun, she loves going to Navy basketball games, reading, meditating, and going on long walks.

Sandra Cisneros

Major: Marketing & Finance '25

Sandra is involved in many organizations like the Women in Business Association and Women Empowerment Institute. She owns two small businesses and loves playing soccer and lacrosse. Her favorite artist is The Weekend.
